Closer bonds
The weekend almost to a close (just waiting for the man of our house to get home)....and I've had my big brother stay with his lovely other half....YAY! Really really special for us, the first time the boys have really had their own time with Josh and Misty. I was SO blessed by the quick response to my "I need company" call, kind words, yummy cooking, gentleness and encouragement to the boys(as well as some good rough and tumble with Josh). Seeing the boys easy response was only proof to me of J & Ms big hearts and love for others.

Off with the boys...
This morning I took the boys on a loooong walk...exploring a nearby park...ended up each of us having a stick, throwing rocks into rivers, checking out eels, trying to make cows moo, hide and seek under the trees....boys WILL be boys ay? They are lucky I had my old shoes on and don't mind getting dirty...:)
Just waiting for the weekend to settle in....hubby will be away but have some great company arriving tomorrow! Yay!!

On-line shopping
Ooohhhh...my anzac weekend shopping has arrived in the mail, I love being able to catch the sales without going anywhere...save on impulse buying and petrol.....and being able to do it after the boys are asleep. A great outfit for less than a third of the price this time around! Though a few hours at the mall is still undeniably relaxing...

Nathan turns 3!
Today we partied hard on Nathan's behalf.....and what a great day!!! Nath, you are for sure a champion and we are so glad you're with us! This year was the ultimate "convenience party" - what a treat for all of us! No stress, just walked out of the house after the boys naps, shut the door and arrived....had a neat time.... thanks to our wonderful friends.....the thoughtful gifts and the way you are with your own kids and ours....is a real blessing to us.....thank you....love you..... All took place at the all-new gorgeous Lifeway Cafe...CentraFusion...), cake bought(note edible Thomas icing, COOL...), no planned games just ran off all that energy with the Mums and Dads in our enlarged local play pen - the basketball courts....heaps of fun! And great coffee for parents too! Now, time to relax and settle into the weekend (whatever that means with 2 young boys :)).
Some highlights...
"Happy birthday to YOU!"
A moment I looked away....Nath & Ben had decided that the Alfie and Jack (new diggers) could be put to work shoveling cake....hmmm.....interesting concept.....I do love this pic though, see the way Ben is looking at Nath....
Hello to a new dear friend.....I'm so glad you made it, even to the last part :)...sharing this part of our lives together makes it heaps easier...look forward to lots more....thanks......and hey, hooray for healthy sleeping babies! :)
In the morning Nathan got to wear the brithday hat at Kidzway....such fun watching him being so excited us all being there (Dad included though not quite for these pics)...there was even a wee skip in his step :) Nath, you really know how to have fun!Wednesday, April 09, 2008
All's well that ends well
Today Nath and I went on one of our regular road trips to the eye doctors. The only reason I can stand it is the fact that Nath doesn't mind it so much any more....the fear is nearly all gone for him. I still cry at least once before going and always on the way home. There have been people I wanted to visit all year but I just couldn't do it today. The routine of "go in, have a play, see the doctors, who have some cool machines (a far cry from the old school “peer into my eye now, dear” freak-you-out-forever-type)and great tricks on engaging kids, maybe a few stink things and get out of there and go to McDs where we have a chat about it all and a run around... mostly a big reward for being so brave"....helps me, too.
We all have parts of us that need "fixing". Most we have hidden away until judgement day, or if we are brave enough to face life honestly, at an inconvenient "I don't think I can go through this I'm sure I'm being skinned alive" time. Childhood and Motherhood seems like the best opportunities to get these parts of us "fixed" or ready for future use, I think! When everything is new, we are most vulnerable and when we dream the most.
When they say about future operations "we have never had a 100% accurate result" I think about how the earth is positioned perfectly, so we are not too hot, and not too cold....how so much of creation shows that there is a place and time for everything....
Now, I'm all done with Philisophical and Serious posts. Keep to the journal I think! Next post will be some PHOTOS! Did I mention there is a circus 200m from our house, which means, a huge tent, an elephant and his friends are here on holiday for a week!!!! Many local children have been seen making trumpet noises and walking arms waving....yes, yes, small town and I LOVE IT!
